HOW TO
FIND A LOST CAT
You have to do more than hang posters and walk the neighborhood.
[Domesticated] cats do not run away. Experts say most missing
cats are either injured, trapped or disoriented within a 10 house radius. They
are counting on you to do whatever is necessary to find them.
We have had 6 cats go missing from adoptive homes in our rescue,
and we have found every one of them. If you do the following, you will find
your cat.
People do not notice posters, or think anything about a cat
outdoors.
What you must do is make 200 fliers with a photo that asks
people to hold on to the flier for a minimum of 30 days and call you
immediately if they see anyone resembling your cat at all. Go door to door to
every single house 10 houses up, and 10 houses down. Do the same thing 5 blocks
in each direction. That is 200 houses.
All it takes is one person to look in your cat’s direction at
the right time…..if they know that the cat is wanted home. You will have 200
houses looking for your cat…you will find your cat! It is a numbers game. If you
cheat, you cheat on your cat and your chances of finding him/her.
It is a great way to meet many wonderful people who have great
compassion for animals…..and after meeting you at their door, they will make it
their mission for the next month to look for your cat.
The first time I employed this method, was after 2 weeks of
hanging posters and driving around, talking to people I saw out on the street.
I suddenly remembered what they recommended at a pet conference I went to, and
I made 200 fliers, spent 3 hours going door to door and got 3 phone calls
within 20 minutes of getting home. He lived 2 houses from the west end of a 25
house block….and he was found 2 houses from the east end….wondering why his
house was nowhere to be found. We got him safely home that night. J
The last time we employed this method was this past May, June
and July. It took 3 mos to find our cat…..and we found him just in time. He was
only 5 pounds of skin and bones when we got him back, and had just begun to
develop fatty liver syndrome from starvation….but we got him in time, treated
him with meds and he made a full recovery!!!
The point is….don’t give up on your cat. He won’t…..he can’t
give up on you….you are all he’s got!
We hope you will follow this process. It is a numbers game, and
it works! If you cover 200 homes, and have 200 homes looking….you will have
your cat back. Find family and friends to help you go door to door if you need
to. Our fingers are crossed for you!

I've always told people that their cat is most likely very close to home. People seem to think that a cat once outside will travel like the wind.From experience, I know better and advise them to look close to home. I will pass on this info from now on. Thank you. Deb
invaluable information....when Tommy got lost, we found him after 18 hours - under the a/c unit next door. :)
