I have a neighbor who gave me this remedy for a cat getting sprayed by a skunk. I've never used it but I imagine it might be of use to some of you.
1. 1 quart of hydrogen peroxide solution
2. One fourth cup of baking soda
3. One table spoon of Dawn dishwashing detergent.
The trick is to find an empty 2 liter soda bottle to
pour all this into, since the Dawn detergent plus
baking soda won't fit into the H2O2 bottle. This worked
perfectly. Pour it on, let it sit for a couple of minutes,
then wash.
Of course all of our indoor cats stay indoors 100% of the time now. But it's possible they might get sprayed through the wire mesh of our cat run. We would not be able to use this remedy on our feral cats since they are trap-wise.
Skunks would come to our back porch about 3 years ago - about 8. Since we have not seen any for the last 2 years, they might have been killed by coyotes - or by humans, sad to say.
If any of you have another de-skunk solution, please comment and let us know.

I sure hope I never have to find out if it works!
Me too! Here's hoping I never see a skunk in the fur.

That is good to know. We hope we never see skunks. Now that the Raccoons are gone, we do not have any wild life!
