Scrufty can get some really odd facial expressions going at times. She can also be a bit skittish - petting her has to be on her terms or she might decide to run off to another part of the room.
Unlike the others who like being pet but eventually decide they have enough of it, Scrufty never gets enough of petting her fur. Again, it has to be the way she wants it. She likes her back rubbed, likes the sides of her face stroked, and sometimes her belly. Since we have taken her in and helped her heal, she has found her "voice" which is anything from a tiny squeak to an audible purr.
Scrufty seems so fragile to me. She is slight of build. But she is so incredibly intrepid when it comes to going outdoors. After the others have long come back inside from the cat run, Scrufty is still out there, braving the cold.
I haven't posted for a while, as always, due to my challenges with my work and managing my diabetes. But I just wanted to share what a quirky and special kitty this little girl Scrufty is!!

Scruffy is so cute! Sammy-Joe is the same way with petting. He loves to be petted, but he needs to be in charge!
I just love when kitties stick their little tongues out! Makes them look so cute and vulnerable, unlike their usual regal selves.
