Cats are amazingly flexible and advanced creatures. I'm astounded at how they can stretch around to preen and clean their hindquarters. They can jump onto a table which is 8-10 times taller than they are without needing a running start. Their night vision is better than mine in my youth. And they have something like 200-some smell sensors as opposed to 50-some in humans (do I remember the ratio there correctly?) Until I got into caring for our abandoned and feral colony, I never appreciated the amazing skills and features of our feline friends.

Above are three photos which I find fascinating - not sure why. But the ability to curl their tongues as far out as they do is just one more amazing thing they do.
