In the morning she is usually the first one out into the enclosed cat run. And we marvel at how she likes the outdoors so much that she will even go out there when it is freezing cold or sprinkling rain when the others won't join her.
I call her Miss Intrepid!! And we love her cute heart-shaped face. As she was abandoned by neighbors, we have given her a forever home.

Scrufty has a pretty face. It was heartless of the neighbours to abandon her. She is lucky that you saw what had happened and have given her a home.

Scruffy is a beautiful cat. She is so lucky that you were able to give her a permanent home. She sounds like a very independent thinking cat. Maybe she enjoys going out in the enclosure so she can have some time by herself. It will be interesting to see if she lets you give more scritches over time or if she continues to only allow pets & scritches on her own terms. I will never understand people who abandon their pets. If they care so little, why have a pet in the 1st place. Thank you for making her part of your family.
Too many people figure that a cat who doesn't want to be touched isn't worth the bother. It's good that there are those who know otherwise.
