Caleci Virus in Panther and Tiger Lily

Panther is My toothless wonder

I have posted about this before. I thought it is worth repeating.

We have a few cats with Caleci virus. It can affect different cats differently. One of ours throws up from time to time because of it. (Panther) The other seems to have no ongoing reactions. (Tiger) She threw up once, then never again after a cortisone shot. I wonder if this might have to do with the immune system. Also, we had Panther's teeth removed entirely at the vet's suggestion. It seems to have helped keep the Caleci from growing. She does not throw up as often. He first diagnosed this virus by looking at her teeth and feeling her lymph glands, which were swollen.

Here are some links if you want to read about the Caleci virus ..

Thanks so much for the information! We are sending many purrs to Panther and Tiger Lily - we hope very much that any manifestations of the virus remain minor.

Panther is looking glorious! He just couldn't have a better name. It's funny, he's got the very same slightly droopy look to his mouth that our Gerry has because he has no teeth. :)
