Is Raw Meat Good for Cats?

This is Scrufty at the top of our cat run, watching birds. Since this abandoned cat was domesticated, we keep her inside. Also, she had some severe stomatitis before her operation a few years ago. So she does not get to go outside for anything let alone to catch birds.

Bootsy (below) has caught and eaten many birds. He's feral so it's just what his predatory urges are prompting him to do. And he eats just about the whole body - head, body, wings - usually only leaves legs. I checked online about whether there is any danger to them with disease from birds. But there is conflicting info. Some say birds can give them disease. Others say raw meat is the best for them. Some say the source of the raw meat is important.

What do you say?

Here's a link to an interesting article on the subject.

Scrufty is beautiful and so is Debby.

Our human, a vegetarian, has never given us raw meat.

We are starting to wonder if processed foods are more harmful these days.

I have tried and tried to get E&F to eat raw food but they just turn their noses up at it. They used to eat all the mice and birds they caught, but don't often bother now. Once they have killed their prey they lose interest.

We won't eat raw meat! We like processed foods. But our mom switched our food when she saw the food had fillers in it. We ate as much as we liked, and we all lost weight! We get wet food in the morning and dry food all day long.

There are mixed reactions to this question. Most cats love eating natural cat food such as raw chicken and other raw meats. Chicken, meat and fish is a Cats favorite and healthy food.
